What is padel?
Padel is a form of tennis that is easy to play, fun and extremely sociable. It is played mainly in a doubles format on an enclosed court about a third of the size of a tennis court and can be played in groups of mixed ages and abilities, The rules are broadly the same as tennis, although the serve underhand and the walls are used as part of the game with the ball allowed to bounce off them.One of the fastest growing sports across continental Europe, padel has gained increasing popularity.

2024 Inaugural County Closed Padel Competition
On 15th September 2024 we held our inaugural county closed Padel competition for both ladies and men. We were hosted by Brentwood Padel and blessed with fabulous weather.
The ladies played a round robin format which was deservedly won by Megan Ward and Rosie Quirk. The men played knockout format in very competitive matches and saw some fabulous Padel played. The final was contested by Rob Carter and David Watson and David Wright and Marshall Tutu which saw David and Marshall edge out Rob and David 13-11 in the championship tie break. A great match and advert for Essex Padel.
It just leaves me to say a big thank you to Brentwood for their hospitality and great organisation.
