Individual Competitions

Road to Wimbledon

Club/Park/Venues

For 11-14 year olds (or Year 7-9 for schools) and players with a rating of 7.1 or worse – this is a great staged competition. Venues and Venue organisers plan and run their own internal competition for eligible players. The winner qualifies through to the County Finals at Paddington Recreational Grounds with lots of fun competition and prizes.

The ultimate prize for County champions is the opportunity to play a tournament on the Grass Courts at AELTC, home of Wimbledon Championships. This has in the past included access to the Wimbledon Museum, AELTC Player changing rooms and the R2W player party during the week.

County Runners Up are invited to attend a Coach workshop with Dan Bloxham, Head Coach at AELTC and a former pro player at AELTC.

LTA Regional/International Pathway

Players compete in the local regional tournament where qualifiers progress to the International competition playing against the Top 14U players from India, Hong Kong, Japan and China.

For your players rated 6.2 or better, please recommend the Regional stage competition – more info available here.

Quorn Family Cup

Red Ball (Player Aged 10 & Under + Adult Family member O18)

Venues apply and run a Quorn Family Tennis Cup red ball competition between February and April. The red ball competition usually lasts approximately 2 hours (dependent on number of pairs taking part).

The winners of each red ball competition will earn the opportunity of a day out at a Quorn Family Tennis Cup event held on the qualifying weekend of a LTA grass court major event in June.

Each pair will have the chance to play against other winners on the day as well as watch the professional players in action.

Yellow Ball (Junior player aged 11-17 + Adult Family member O18). Regional events across the UK took place on Sunday 16  September 2018.
These were a one day, indoor event.

Essex Adult Individual Tournaments

“The Essex Competitions Committee had hoped to run the Essex Individual Tournaments for the year 2019/2020.   Unfortunately, no court space was available during January, February or March for us to host the semi-finals.  We will endeavour to start again in  2020/2021”.
