ESSEX TENNIS Covid-19 updates (updated 26/3/20)
As you will all be aware the Coronavirus situation is developing very quickly and in turn, the guidance being provided by the authorities is being updated daily.
Essex Tennis are very aware of the growing concerns around COVID-19 and have implemented an immediate suspension of tennis activity for the foreseeable future.
Although the Essex Tennis office is closed our current operational times remain unchanged (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10am-3pm). We (Celine, Janice, Joanne and Lynn) are dealing with emails and picking up voicemail messages during the above times.
Essex Tennis will be constantly reviewing the situation and we ask that you use this page to update yourselves on information from the LTA and the Government (please see the links at the end of this page).
We understand that our clubs and venues are the lifeblood of tennis in Essex and we are currently looking at ways to offer our support. Our first measure has been to place a moratorium on AE loan repayments for a year (see below). We will be in touch with all clubs within the next week to outline further assistance available.
We send good wishes to all our venues, players, officials, coaches, volunteers, and supporters at this difficult time. Please stay safe and well and heed the advice to stay at home.
AE (Advantage Essex) Loans
In the light of the current situation there will be a moratorium on all current AE loans. Each club with payments outstanding will be offered a 12-month deferral on their payments. All information has been sent out to clubs concerned but if you have any further questions please contact email@example.com
Essex Tennis Leagues and Competition
Considering the situation regarding coronavirus the Essex Tennis Competitions Committee have decided to suspend the Winter and Summer Open Leagues, Seniors Leagues and Summer County Cups with immediate effect. The Committee will advise you all in due course what steps we will take going forward.
