Yesterday we were given the very sad news that Don Barton had passed away earlier in the day.
Don was a true gentleman [and an accomplished tennis player]. He was very generous, wise, totally loyal and Chair of Essex Tennis for probably longer than anyone else. Essex Tennis, Woodford Wells, England and his family were ingrained in his psyche. He led the County for many years, and it was a privilege for anyone who worked with him. All who knew him will be feeling we have lost someone who was very special and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
A Thanksgiving service is to be held on Wednesday 14th September 2022 at 1.30pm, All Saints Church, Inmans Row, Woodford Green IG8 ONH. For further details please see funeral notice attached below.
