The first LTA National League Winter competition officially finished at the end of March. Whilst there were a number of matches still outstanding as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak and the government’s containment measures, our match competition percentage in Essex finished the highest in the Eastern region with 63 out of 85 matches played. Not bad from a standing start with 49 mini and junior teams entered representing 17 venues for the winter 2019/20 competition across the County. A big thank you to those clubs and players who took part, not forgetting coaches and parents for helping to organise teams and fixtures.
Divisional and group winners have been based on standings as at 31st March 2020 from results updated to the LTA’s tournament software site. All winning teams will be recognised with an end of season prize. The LTA want to get these prizes sent out as soon as possible but expect delays due to Covid-19 affecting their suppliers production. Fingers crossed this won’t be too long.
As life after lockdown becomes clearer we’re hoping to have more news from the LTA about the 2020/21 Winter competition.
Congratulations to the following teams!
